Job summary Valley Tractor is looking to hire a full-time Service Tech to work on a wide range of power products and commercial grade landscaping equipment.
Primary brands include Stihl, Kubota, Toro, Exmark and John Deere.
Equipment includes riding and walk behind mowers, utility vehicles, compact tractors, chainsaws, pole saws, trimmers, and a variety of specialty landscape equipment.
The small engine shop is a fast-paced environment.
A successful candidate must have the ability to multitask, efficiently handle multiple work orders, work through heavy seasonal demands, and willingness to communicate with customers and management.
Overtime and some Saturdays required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Examine, test run and diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs, and document work.
Perform all repairs on equipment with limited supervision and within capability/skill level.
Caters to the specific needs of each repair order efficiently and accurately.
This must be done within both dealership and factory requirements.
Provide in-depth examination of equipment to determine if any safety or service work is needed or recommended.
Disassemble and assemble equipment components in an organized manner.
Clean and test run equipment prior to closing repair order.
Clearly document work that is performed on the repair order.
Effectively communicate with service management adjustments and additional work as is needed.
Possess tooling required by the service department.
Work overtime as required by seasonal workload and customer need.
Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools.
Successfully complete appropriate training sessions as required.
Build competencies and shares skills with other technicians, retains acquired knowledge.
Stay current with equipment and product lines.
Keep a clean and organized work space, perform departmental and equipment cleanup as required.
Job Type:
Full-time Minimum requirements High School Diploma or GED Tractor/Industrial Equipment service experience.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Formal training/schooling on diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
Physical Requirements Some work is required outdoors during all seasons.
Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and noise.
Safely use hoists and appropriate tools to lift heavy equipment and parts.
Wages and Benefits Wages $20-$30/hour depending on experience.
