Cake Decorator
Job Description:
As a primary contact for Safeway customers, the Cake Decorator provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service.
Decorates cakes and pastries with designs using icing bag or paper cone.
Trims uneven surfaces of cake or cuts and shapes cake to required size using knife.
Spreads icing between layers and on surfaces of cake using spatula.
Tints white icing with food coloring.
Inserts die of specific design into tip of bag or paper cone and fills bag or cone with colored icing.
Squeezes bag to eject icing while moving bag with free-arm writing motions to form design on cake.
Forms decoration on flower nail and transfers decorations to cake using scissors.
Maintains product organization in freezer or cooler.
Fills cases, refrigerated gondola and table displays.
Mixes whipping cream and butter cream.
Interacts with customers face to face or via telephone to obtain special order information.
Suggests products and designs for customers.
Cleans work area.
Monitors supplies, inventories and transmits orders to Bakery Manager.
