DCYF is looking for a Juvenile Rehabilitation Councilor (JRC3) to join our team to lead our counseling staff, working toward the common goal of eliminating child and Juvenile Rehabilitation youth outcome disparities based on race and ethnicity.

The Opportunity:
We need your leadership skills to join the dedicated team at Canyon View Community Facility, a minimum-security residential facility in East Wenatchee.
You will supervise and support treatment and reentry planning and community-based programs through conflict resolution, student accounts, managing schedules and ensuring policies are enacted.
You will also act as the Clinical lead educating staff, youth and community stakeholders in the principles of JR's Integrated Treatment Model.

Some of what you will do:
Supervise and direct staff within a collective bargaining environment.
Assess need and ensure employees receive training to accomplish duties of position and for ongoing development.
Conduct timely employee evaluations.
Address employee performance issues and initiate disciplinary procedures for just cause.
Provide leadership and on the job training in delivery of cognitive/behavioral and evidence-based treatment interventions with youth including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Work closely with the DBT consultant each month to organize and facilitate consultation team and didactic learning.
Monitor and ensure adherence and fidelity to clinical and environmental standards as well as case reporting required by JR's treatment model.
Network and communicate effectively with juvenile justice and social service professionals, law enforcement, courts, schools, employers, treatment providers and tribes.
What we are looking for:
A bachelor's degree AND two years working with at-risk or justice system involved youth as a case manager, counselor, probation or parole officer, or in a social service capacity planning, directing, supervising or facilitating interventions with at-risk or juvenile system youth or a related field.
OR One year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Residential Counselor (JRRC), Juvenile Rehabilitation Community Counselor (JRCC), or Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 2 (JRC2).
OR Equivalent combination of education and experience, totaling six years.
Note:
A Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or in an allied field will substitute for the one year of experience.
Degree must be obtained from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.
S.
Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or foreign equivalent verified by a NACES-approved organization at naces.
org.
Foreign Equivalency certification must be attached to the application for degrees obtained outside the U.
S.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
Effectively communicating verbally and in writing with management, coworkers, clients and community stakeholders as required to support successful transition/reentry of youth back to their families and communities.
Providing direct care to youth in a community environment.
Monitoring and managing youth in a non-secure residential setting in the community.
Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships in the community that support successful transition/reentry of youth.
Understanding of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles; experience providing cognitive/behavioral therapeutic interventions.
Competency in relating to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.
Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences related to juvenile delinquency.
Ability to use de-escalation techniques approved for intervention by JR with verbally and/or physically aggressive youth.
