A technician must be resourceful and proactive to find information necessary to complete diagnosis and repairs.
The primary responsibilities will be performing reconditioning on used vehicles and general repair when needed.
Must have attention to detail and be able to identify not only mechanical problems but also structural issues as well as body and paint issues.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ability to work within a diverse workforce; maintain a professional business appearance, demeanor and neat workspace.
Arrive to work on time and job ready.
Understand, as a representative of the company, high level work standards are required at all times in both service and behavior.
Maintain a positive attitude and participate in training and coaching.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Perform multi-point inspections.
Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenishes as necessary.
Inspect tire pressure, condition and function making recommendations, repairs and replacement.
Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Follow manufacture guidelines for documentation as well as parts returns and repairs.
Complete and document maintenance and repair inspections.
Communicate directly with Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed or repairs cannot be completed within the presented timeline.
Road tests vehicles.
Participate in manufacturer, ASE or other training programs as assigned by management.
Report machinery defects, malfunctions and safety concerns to supervisor and/or management.
Ensure customer cars are kept clean.
Notify Service Advisor immediately if anything happens that changes the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
Keep shop area neat and clean.
Understand, comply, and keep current with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
and follow all dealership safety programs.
Perform other duties as assigned and adapt as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications Experience as an Advanced Express Maintenance Technician.
Valid Washington State Driver's License or equivalent.
All licenses must be converted to a Washington State License within 30 days of employment.
Clean driving record.
Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen.
Preferred Education and Experience and Qualifications Ability to drive manual vehicles.
Experience in relating effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors and the general public.
1-2 years experience in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
