Summary:
This position is a key member of the interdisciplinary team, who is responsible for the proper service of meals to residents while creating a meaningful dining experience for residents and guests.
This position is responsible for all dietary aspects of our community such as, but not limited to:
order supplies/food, maintain a budget accordingly, prepare menus, and oversee all dietary staff including scheduling.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen service areas and record-keeping functions, assisting staff with cleanliness and sanitation.
This person will also act in the role of a cook, and will mentor and train cooks and others in the dietary department.

COOKS AND DIETARY ASSISTANTS POSITION
Responsibilities:
1.
To create a dining experience where independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.
2.
Act as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, coordinating resident dietary needs and new move-ins and move-outs with the health services director and the Administrator.
3.
Scheduling, coaching, and direct supervision of dining services employees.
4.
Maintains documentation of functions, i.
e.
resident diet record, daily meal count, cleaning checklist, and quality control records per state regulations and board of health requirements.
5.
Preparation and over seeing of all food items.
6.
Takes orders and serves food to residents and visitors as needed.
7.
Clears tables, cleans dining room floor, dining room counter area, dishwashing tasks, other cleaning and sanitation duties as needed.
8.
Maintain adequate supplies for serving food, including paper goods, dishes, flatware, glassware, and condiments.
9.
Identifies each resident, maintains familiarity with diet needs of each resident.
10.
Conducts inventory of perishable foods and supplies as directed.
11.
Orders food and supplies following established procedures as directed.
12.
Supervises food production/quality control, maintaining highest standards.
13.
Maintains and distributes Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
14.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator or designee.

TRAINING AND
Experience:
1.
Must maintain a food handlers card as required by the state.
2.
Must maintain any certifications for Dining Service Coordinators as mandated by state Such as ServSafe certification.
3.
Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation.
4.
Demonstrated ability in food service management and services.
5.
Knowledge of food costs and budget comparison.
6.
18-24 months experience in similar position preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly during work hours (heavy work level).
